TFC 24
Wish this was slightly taller! It's very compact, good weight, and impressively stiff but with a head + spotting scope added it isn't quite tall enough for me on uneven or soft ground. Otherwise a really good tripod and being compact is good for transporting. I strap it to my rucksack and find it's a similar heigh to the frame of the rucksack. There were F6/7 winds over the weekend and paired with a good head, I was impressed by the lack of shake when looking through my scope! It wasn't always possible to be standing somewhere sheltered from the wind. With previous tripods/heads I've noticed a lot of shake which has made seawatching and surveys at exposed sites challenging, so have been searching for a stiff but not too heavy tripod for a long time. I also felt confident that this set up was less likely to be blown over as it felt much sturdier than previous set ups or the tripods my friends had.

TFC-33 Mk2 Ultralight Tripod
We're very happy with our purchase of TFC-33 Mk2 Ultralight Tripod replacing a nukeproof industry standard carbon tripod that weighs 6.5 pounds with a load capacity of 55 pounds. The TFC-33 Mk2 weighs only 3.73 pounds with a load capacity of 65 pounds when fully extended and is precision designed and built, beautifully crafted with the fit and finish other companies wish they could produce on their products. The only nit is that few users would steady the tripod with the furnished hand strap, most would have their right hand on the trigger and left hand on the focus ring. We clip a backpack under the head to steady the rig and because the strap is long the backpack winds up on the ground when the tripod is not fully extended. Replacing the hand strap with a 3 or 4 inch loop of 200 pound test nylon coated stainless steel fishing leader would be a great alternative.
